Donetsk People's Republic tallies up Ukrainian combat losses..

via Panorama.
More than 2,300 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have died in the war-torn southeastern regions of the country over the past 25 days, Eduard Basurin, a deputy commander of the corps in the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed unrecognized Donetsk People's Republic told a news briefing on Wednesday, TASS reported.
"Over the past 25 days that have elapsed since the resumption of hostilities, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost a helicopter, 179 tanks, 149 armored personnel carriers and/or infantry combat vehicles, 135 artillery guns, and more than 2,300 servicemen in killed," he said.
The number of casualties since Tuesday afternoon is 82 servicemen. Also, the pro-Kiev forces have lost five tanks, two armored personnel carriers and infantry combat vehicles, seven artillery systems, and two general-purpose cars, the Donetsk News Agency quoted Basurin.
Populated localities in the DPR underwent artillery shelling on the part of pro-Kiev troops on more than thirty occasions on Wednesday. In part, gunfire was targeted at Donetsk and its suburbs, as well as the townships of Peski, Vesyoloye and Spartak.
The shelling left six civilians dead and another twelve civilians, wounded,
"All in all, some 172 people have been wounded over the past seven days and 114 of them are at hospitals," Basurian said, adding that all these people were civilians.
You take those numbers and divide them in half and they're still devastating.  What is also interesting is this so called "Donetsk People's Republic"...the idea that we can see Ukraine fragmenting the way that it appears to be fragmenting should be worrying.

This flies in the face of the "united" Europe concept and will drag the continent back to the pre-Soviet Union days.

Heavy combat losses.

The declaration of a republic inside a country that has already lost a significant amount of territory?

This is bad.  Real bad.

  1. Rule of thumb regarding "Ministry" reports on "Enemy losses" in an area with media manipulation.

    Divide by 10. lol.

You remember those "Combat loss" figures? Those that said you needed 3x the men to dig out an entrenched enemy and 5x for a fortified objective? There is one more not so well known one. Rout. The routing enemy will lose about 5x the men involved in the offensive or their total force, whichever one is lower.

So when someone says that they killed 10x more men, they are either doped up to the point where they can fight like 2 men or someone is padding the figures.

"there are no American soldiers in Baghdad". That one was pretty funny.

    1. They exaggerate by far... I would divide it by 10 at least, just like the Ukrainians exaggerate theirs information's. Of course there are always precise numbers, this case 2.300 men, how they count that? Simple one dude sit in the chair in the propaganda department and made it up to look good... first rule, enemy losses must be huge, our losses must be small or even don't talk about.

      Both sides follow that rule.

    2. I am not certain how you go way past 10x times, You can find photos for way more than 17 tanks and 14 apcs destroyed , and ukrainian military wouldn't be running out of men for 200 KIA

    3. You can find pretty reliable info about losses of men in regular Ukrainian forces, they don't include the volunteers of course. They are big... but not THAT big. You can't in many cases say from where or when those pics are... Ukrainians take losses, that's for sure... but not in that level.

  6. Its hard to say
On the one hand, that's a reinforced armoured brigades worth of kit, three tank battallion, three armoured/mechanised infantry battalions and three artillery battalions.
    That's a serious force.

    On the other
Ukraine has repeatedly said its forces are continually pummeled by Russian artillery, which could easily inflict those losses

  7. 96 kills per day is not enormous... Your theorical figure counter trench and fortified enemy are certainly pure infantry. Thèse dudes have full warfare stuff except aircraft...

Normal loses , plus one or two régiment surprized by bm21 saturation and coule ne real....

By th way I think about divide by two too.
Too Much tank losses, or ukies are doing full bullshit..
